Traditional Hausa bowed instrument also referred to as Gonje/ Gonji
An Agilinti lizard skin-covered gourd, strung with horse tail and played with a bow. Resin block is provided - which must be used - for the horse hair on the instrument and the bow, plus small stick bridge to raise the string. *Spare horse tail fibres and spare bridge are provided in the shipment.
A very popular instrument with traditional Yoruba-Muslim musicians, such as Yusufu Olatunji, Alhaji Slami Balogun, Alhaji Saka Olayigbade etc and nearly always played alongside the Sakara drums)
