Igbo conga/tom-tom type drums, played with hand/stick.
Carved from coconut tree wood.
The lead Igba drum is made to talk by pushing in the skin whilst beating with a stick.
This original West African drum shape with it's "wedge & ring" tuning style later travelled to the Americas - for example the Cuban Abakua drum or the Colombian Cununo drum, which both bear uncanny resemblance.
